November 2024 Newsletter

This fall has been filled with enriching experiences both inside and outside the classroom. Our students have enjoyed lots of time outdoors, engaging in hands-on learning about our natural surroundings and traditional ways of knowing through field trips like moose hunting camp and walks closer to the school. Additionally, we have continued to strengthen learners’ literacy skills with UFLI lessons, ensuring that our students are advancing their reading and writing abilities.

Several well-deserved school breaks have also allowed everyone to recharge and return to learning with renewed energy. We have been fortunate to host a number of special guests who have contributed greatly to our students' learning and well-being. Our past principal, Heidi Warren, visited in her new role as Whole Child Coach with FNSB. We also welcomed Matilde, our occupational therapist, as well as therapists Dyanna and Travis. Our literacy coach, Kayla, visited last week and has been instrumental in advancing our literacy initiatives. Each of these guests has brought valuable expertise and care, enriching the educational experience for our students.

We are thrilled to announce the addition of Danielle Fraser to our teaching team. Danielle, along with her husband, dog, and cat, made an incredible nineday journey from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia to join us. We are excited to welcome Danielle and her family into our community and look forward to the new perspectives and enthusiasm she brings to our school. Her dedication and adventurous spirit are a great fit for our close-knit community, and we are eager to see the positive impact she will have on our students' learning journey.
